It is easy to forget to do this, so adding it to your ’time change’ to-do list is a great idea. This is a simple process that ensures that if the worst should happen (for example, due to hard drive failure, fire, etc.), you will have a backup database less than six months old. We have seen companies who forgot to make backups, and sadly had the worst case happen to them, and they had to spend hours upon hours rebuilding their databases from scratch.
